I'm about to leave Amsterdam and I have to admit, I didn''t really like it. I saw a lot and it was a good experience, but it's not the kind of city I'd like to live it. Besides the fact that almost everyone is on drugs here it's dirty, people just seem to toss their trash out by the side of the road. I went to some clubs last night and had a fun time, but there was just so much smoke in the air I had to go outside and take breathers to keep from gagging. I guess my American lungs are used to open spaces, ha, something that you will not be able to find in Amsterdam minus the few amazing plaza's where some beautiful architectual masterpeices lay- hopefully I'll have the time and means to upload some pictures I've taked.
I also got a new phone in Amsterdam because the one I got stateside wasn't working with the european cell towers. This one is called a "vodaphone"and has €35 on it so hopefully I don't use that up. It seems like a lot of money to me but then again I didn't understand the salesman when he explained to me how much international time it would be.
I'm off to Ghent not, a city near the northern coast in Belgium, I was planning on staying on a barge that has been converted into a hostel but I recieved a troubling e-mail last night explaning how the manager had given away my room, forcing me to venture into the city hoping that somewhere there is an opening.
I suppose that's what Europe is about, ha.
